A 24-year-old minibus driver Christopher Malango has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attacks on people in Limbe.

He is suspected to have killed two sex workers and attacked 7 other people stealing their items in the process.

Limbe Police Station Publicist Sub Inspector Wisdom Nhlane said the perpetrator was arrested on 13 August.

“We have indeed arrested the man because he is suspected to be behind these crimes.”

“We received reports in July that the man was using a Nissan Caravan registration number NU 966 to pick sex workers from Yiannakis, Kamba and Kachere and he would beat them and rob them of their belongings.”

The man dumped the bodies of the sex workers in Chiwembe Township and Kanjedza forest stream.

Meanwhile, police has impounded the vehicle.

Malango will appear before court soon, to answer charges of murder, robbery with violence and rape.
