The Roads Authority (RA) has disclosed plans to construct more roads in the country’s cities to ease traffic congestion.
RA chief executive officer Engineer Emmanuel Matapa made the revelation when the authority appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Transport.
Speaking to YFM, Engineer Matapa said the number of vehicles on the roads of Malawi continues to rise each passing day a situation which has resulted into cities experiencing traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, chairperson for the Parliamentary Committee on transport, Robert Mwina said his committee will soon inspect the construction of interchange at Area 18 roundabout in Lilongwe to appreciate the progress this far.
