The Mulhako wa Alhomwe cultural grouping says everything is ready for its 10th anniversary celebrations which will be held on October 29 with President Peter Mutharika as guest of honour.
The event will take place at its headquarters at Chonde in Mulanje district.
Publicity Secretary for the cultural grouping, Dickson Makhumba said people should expect a fully packed event due to number of planned activities.
“There will be total security and people should not worry even if they bring their bicycles, they will eat, drink and go home safely.” he said.
Makhumba he said this year’s event has been set with a theme called ”empowering the youth”.
“Since the population of Malawi is mostly made up of the youth, through this year’ theme we want to make sure that the youth are independent financially,” Makhumba said.
Apart from representatives of all cultural groups in Malawi, other invited guests will come from Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and South Africa.
Mulhako wa Alhomwe is an annual festival where people learn a lot about the Lhomwe culture and history.
The grouping which was formed by Malawi’s former Head of State late Bingu wa Mutharika, in 2007.
