Indigenous Businesspersons Association of Malawi (IBAM) says it plans to take part in the forthcoming fresh presidential elections.
Speaking to YFM IBAM president Mike Mlombwa said it high time business person’s grilled candidates on what strategies they will use to promote business in Malawi an issue which has been lip service for a long time.
“Our plan is to engage the presidential hopefuls and find out what they will do to promote indigenous businesses in Malawi in order for us to move forward.”
Mlombwa said this is an opportune time for their voices to be heard.
“What we want is to be able to go the state house and deliberate on how businesses are faring on the ground such an audience would change things for us.”
“They should not take us for granted because as business persons we are facing a lot of challenges and we need to stand up for what we want,” Mlombwa added.
