Former President Peter Mutharika’s bodyguard Norman Chisale will stay longer at Maula Prison as ruling on his bail application has been pushed forward to unknown date.
This is because the presiding Judge Fiona Mwale has gone on leave.
Chisale’s lawyer Chancy Gondwe has confirmed the development.
Gondwe, however said he will engage the High Court Registrar to find other ways of securing bail.
Chisale was arrested almost two weeks ago in connection with the gruesome murder of former Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director of Corporate Affairs Issa Njauju.
Njauju’s body was found half-buried behind Presidental Villas in Lilongwe, in 2015.
