President Lazarus Chakwera has made new appointments in different departments at the State House including the position of Press Secretary.
According to a public notice issued on August 15, by the State House Director of Communications and Executive Assistant to the President, Sean Tsanzo Kampondeni, the appointments are with immediate effect.
A renowned broadcaster, Brian Banda, of Times Media Group, has been appointed as State House Press Secretary.
Banda also served similar position during the former president Joyce Banda administration from 2012 to 2014.
Chakwera has also appointed a vocal rights activist, Overstone Kondowe, as a special advisor on People Living with Albinism and Disability.
Kondowe, is a National Coordinator for the Association of People Living with Albinism (APAM) and also serves as chairperson of the African Union for Persons with Albinism (AUPA), a position which he attained last year.
In other positions, Rev. Brian Kamwendo has been appointed as Religious Affairs Advisor while Major Precious Mahara Gausi is Assistant Aid-De-Camp in the department of Security Services.
Mr. Solomon Kavuta is now the State House Director of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
