As one way of reaching out to needy children in the country, the Malawi Girl Guides Association (MAGGA) has trained kids residing at the Lilongwe Social Rehabilitation Center (SRC) how to make pads and face masks.
According to MAGGA`s Lilongwe District Commissioner Ruth Kafokoza, the Association thought of training the children because they are resource constrained as needy children.
“As MAGGA we decided to teach these kids how to make pads the reason is that we know that they are vulnerable children, they cannot afford to buy pads from the shops,” stressed Kafokoza.
Kafokoza has since appealed for more support from individuals and stakeholders in helping the children
“I would like to ask anyone out there to help these girls because they need a lot, they are needy girls so they need support from us so people out there if they are willing to come they can join hands and assists the kids,” said Kafokoza.
Apart from learning how to make pads, the children have also been taught how to make face masks amid the Covid-19 outbreak.
