The Center for Democracy and Economic Development (CDEDI) has slammed President Lazarus Chakwera for failing to fulfill most of his campaign promises in the first 100 days in office.

CDEDI’s Executive Director, Sylvester Namiwa, has said this, 98 days down the line since Chakwera assumed the presidency seat on June 28, 2020.

In a statement, Namiwa said President Chakwera has been indecisive on disciplining his party members and has shown selective justice in dealing with corruption, saying he has given a blind eye to corruption scandals that involve some members of the tonse alliance the things he promised will be history if voted into power.

The CDEDI’s Executive Director continued to say that Chakwera has also demonstrated political persecution by lying off at most 10 principle secretaries who are believed to have been sympathy sizing with the previous DPP regime.

However, commenting on the matter, one of the governance analysts, Happy Kayuni, has opposed the sentiments saying president Chakwera has proved to be the people’s leader as he has lived on his words.

Kayuni has among other things cited that President Chakwera has shown that he has respect for the rule of law and that his administration is committed to be held accountable.
