A youth rights activist has supported the launch of a business incubation center at the Polytechnic saying it will assist youths to gain entrepreneurship skills and financial independence.

The business incubation center was launched on October 29, 2020, with an aim of equipping professional entrepreneurship expertise to youths in Blantyre regardless of their education background.

Reacting to the development Chimwemwe Kawonga said this center has come at the right time when youths in the country are struggling to get jobs.

“This has been long overdue, as young people we have been advocating for centers that would equip young people with entrepreneurship skills,” said Kawonga.

“We have a huge gap in terms of capacity building for young people that they should be able to effectively participate in issue of entrepreneurship.”

The center is being sponsored by the Malawi government through the ministry of labour with funding from the African Development Bank (ADB).
