The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) says plans are in the pipeline to strategize on how young entrepreneurs can be assisted to get licenses so that they can operate their businesses smoothly.
Speaking to YONECO FM online, executive director for the organization Dingiswayo Jere said their plan is to collaborate with SMEDI to ensure they aid young entrepreneurs to apply for licenses collectively.
“We want to be applying for registration of businesses as a bloc, we’ll get up a number of entrepreneurs and apply for their registration,” said Jere.
He added that the same process will be applied when licensing goods with the Malawi Bureau of standards.
There has been an outcry from young entrepreneurs on the acquisition of business licenses saying the process is frustrating and costly.
