The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has warned that some parts of the country could experience flash floods within the week.
Principal meteorologist and head of public weather service, Yobu Kachiwanda, said most areas in the northern highlands, lakeshore and central areas are expected to experience rains and thunderstorms within the week.
“Expect rains and thunderstorms over the country with the heaviest episodes mainly over northern lakeshore and central areas,” Kachiwanda said.
“Threats of flash floods remain high particularly over lakeshore areas therefore people should be on high alert.”
The department has therefore advised the public to be vigilant to weather conditions that the department will be providing every day to protect themselves from preventable accidents that may come.
