Police in Kasungu are looking for unknown thugs who murdered a businessman, by chopping off his head at Santhe.

According to Kasungu Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Joseph Kachikho, the incident took place on the night of March 3, 2022 at Santhe.

The businessman, who is identified as Tiyese Kazinga, was also robbed off his bicycle, mobile phone and money in the process.

Late Kazinga’s body was discovered in a forest reserve 15 meters away from the foot path while the head was found at a distance of 30 meters.

Sub Inspector Kachikho said: “Kazinga’s body with a chopped head was discovered by a farm guard in farm forest reserve 15 meters away from the foot path and the head was found at a distance of 30 meters.”

He said the matter was reported to Police who rushed to the scene together with medical personnel and post-mortem results revealed that death was due to loss of blood secondary to the assault.

“Investigations are underway to arrest the suspects,” said Sub Inspector Kachikho.
