Minister of Trade and Industry Simplex Chithyola Banda has decried the delayed completion of One- Stop Border Post facility in Mwanza.

Banda, who toured the project on Monday as one of his first tasks since his recent appointment, said the delay is denying the country to start benefiting from the facility which among other things would improve cross border trade activities.

The minister called on Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) officials to warn the contractor, China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) against the delay.

Banda also directed that the contractor should finish construction works not later than four months.

MRA Public Relations Officer Wilma Chalulu said the One Stop Border Post which will be accommodating both Malawi and Mozambique border officers, will improve boarder procedures.
