Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) says it is concerned with rising murder cases in the country.
In the past five days three were found dead in Lilongwe city and Dowa district.
In a statement on Monday, DPP spokesperson Shadric Namalomba said the incidents have created fear among citizens.
Namalomba called on law enforcement agencies to prioritize investigation of the murder cases to ensure thorough action.
He also asked the government to invest in training, equipping and professionalising the Malawi Police Service.
“A robust and accountable law enforcement apparatus is vital to combating lawlessness,” he said.
Namalomba also called on strong working relationship between the police, judiciary and other relevant authorities to ensure that criminals are held accountable.
