Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has directed the Malawi Police Service to vacate from Eastern Region Police Headquarters premises in Zomba within three months.

Zikhale said the current premises are in dilapidated state and a death trap.

He said he could not understand why the buildings have stayed dilapidated for many years.

Ng’oma said he will engage the Ministry of Lands so that they allow the regional police headquarters to relocate to University of Malawi (UNIMA) offices which are currently not fully utilised.
