Chakwera orders ADMARC to deliver maize in all markets

President Lazarus Chakwera has assured people that maize will be available in all Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) markets starting from this week.

Chakwera was speaking on Monday morning during the whistle stop at Sorjin in Nsanje.

He also ordered the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) to continue providing food assistance to those who cannot afford to buy.

On seeking a permanent solution to the hunger situation in the Shire Valley, Chakwera said once the Shire Valley Transformation Project is completed, hunger will be a thing of the past.

President Chakwera also assured communities that everyone is entitled to access business loans from the National Economic Empowerment Funds (NEEF).

Member of Parliament for Nsanje Lalanje constituency, Gladys Ganda, hailed Chakwera for spearheading development projects across the country without looking at regional demarcation or political affiliation.

The president also toured AR. Isaa Cattle Ranch at Ngabu in Chikwawa, where he was taken through the processes of cattle rearing and he also commissioned lights in Nguluwe Village in Traditional Authority Mbenje in Nsanje District under MAREP 9.
