The Malawi Police Service has arrested UTM party Secretary General Patricia Kaliati for allegedly conspiring with others to commit a serious felony.

Malawi Police Spokesperson, Peter Kalaya, confirmed the development on Thursday although he could not state the nature of the alleged felony.

According to Kalaya, the law enforcers have evidence allegedly implicating Kaliati and two other individuals who are yet to be arrested.

Kaliati is expected to be brought before a court of law within 48 hours to answer the charges.
