University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) chancellor President Lazarus Chakwera has urged graduands to put much focus on agricultural innovations which can transform the economy and help the country achieve the Vision 2063.
Speaking before awarding certificates, diplomas and degrees to 689 graduands, Chakwera said the country needs to stop relying on subsistence farming and instead embrace systematic agricultural approaches.
“For a long time, what has prevailed in this country is the subsistence mindset that only focuses on individual survival, the country needs systems mindset,” Chakwera said.
Speaking earlier, Professor Zachary Kasomekera, chairperson of Luanar council called on the graduating students to utilize fully the acquired skills in order to add value to country’s agricultural sector.
