The press has been asked to report on stories in the construction industry as players strongly believe there is a lot to be unraveled.

Chairperson for Construction Sector Transparency Initiative (CoST) Joel Ching’ani,made the plea at a media training on Open Contracting, Bidding and Procurement organized by Youth Net and Counseling Yoneco.

Ching’ani told YFM online that, journalists have a national responsibility to understand and thoroughly investigative and report such stories to the general public.

Commenting on the plea, YONECO’s partnerships officer, Austine Jere said stories on construction are tackled by the media but there is need for in-depth reporting.

YONECO is currently implementing the Citizen led Advocacy for Construction sector project with funding from Hivos.
