The first ever Malawi Tourism Exposition 2017 has commenced Wednesday at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

The Tourism Expo 2017 will run for three days, the first two days for closed businesses and the third for the public viewing.

Principal Tourism Officer in the ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Sarah Njanji told YFM online on Tuesday that the event has assembled over 120 local and regional exhibitors.

Njanji said the event will accord an opportunity to Malawi to market its tourism sector.

“The aim of the Expo is to create a platform for various tourism players to exchange knowledge as well as best practices on how to package Malawi’s tourism products,” she explained.

The event was officially opened by minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Henry Mussa.
