Central Region Beach Soccer Committee (CRBSC) says it is still seeking funds to reach the initial budgeted amount for the running of the league.
CRBSC General Secretary, Ali Mwachande said K800, 000 is needed to reach the required K3 million needed to run the whole league.
Mwachande said: “We are running the league without sponsors but we have managed to source about K2 million kwacha out of K3 million kwacha needed to run the league but so far we are impressed with the progress of the league and the teams are showing commitment.”
He further revealed that teams from outside the country have shown interest in playing friendly matches against the CRBS teams a development which he said has motivated the committee.
“Very soon a team from South Africa will be visiting the country to play a club from central region zone meaning that the league is popular and we are assuring the nation that Central Region Beach Soccer is going to make the sport to be stronger in the country.”
He then pleaded with different organizations to open arms and sponsor beach soccer saying the sport has capabilities to contribute in the development of the country.
Currently, Tourism beach soccer team is leading the CRBS log table with 16 points from six games while Para is trailing with 14 points from a similar number of games.
Anchoring the table is Kabumba which has played five matches and is yet to register a win.
