According to information at hand, Mtetemera’s future with Dwangwa United is likely to be decided by senior players who have made it clear that they don’t want him as their head coach.
It has been reported that the team’s executive has now officially suspended the former MDC United player with the team now in the hands of his deputy Bentley Mhango.
Dwangwa United General Secretary Samson Zimba confirmed the development to this publication saying the team’s poor run of form was the main reason behind the decision to suspend Mtetemera but distanced himself from reports that players have demended for his removal as the team’s head coach.
“Yes, we have suspended MacDonald Mtetemera due to the team’s poor run of form in the top flight which has seen us dropping into the bottom three so as the executive, we thought it wise to suspend him”.

“At the moment, deputy coach Bentley Mhango is now in charge of the team until we sort everything out. I don’t want to comment on reports that players don’t want Mtetemera as their head coach, all I can say is that we are not doing well in the league and it is everyone’s responsibility to turn things around,” he said.
On his part, Mtetemera opted to remain silent on the issue.
Mtetemera is not the only coach to have fallen out of favour with his players as reports have also indicated that Civo Service United coach Milias Pofera has also been told to park up his things and go by his own players.
