The Flemish government says investment in agriculture extension in the country is the backbone of improved production and household food security.
The Minister-President for government of Flanders Geert Bourgeois made the remarks at Kamuzu Palace Friday during an audience with President Peter Mutharika.
“Malawi is an agro-based economy so my government is committed to provide support to the ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development to ensure more investment in the sector,” Bourgeois said.
President Peter Mutharika said his government is working hard to create a conducive environment for investors in untapped areas of investment in minerals, energy and agriculture sectors.
