Geological Survey Department (GSD) says lack of funding, modern equipment and man power are some of the challenges affecting its operations in the country.
Malawi’s Director of Geological Survey Department, Jalf Salima was speaking during the familiazation tour by the Minister of Natural Resources Energy and Mining departments’ headquarters in Zomba.
“The equipment we are using here is outdated which affects our work,” Salima said.
On his part the Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining, Aggrey Masi said he was impressed with the work the department is doing despite the challenges it is facing.
Masi promised that government will make sure that the department is being fully supported.
