Zomba City Council (ZCC) has called on its residents to jealously guard the solar street lights that are being erected along the streets in a bid to promote security and development.
The city’s Deputy Mayor, Davie Maunde said the first ever solar street lights in the city need to be taken care off since they are very expensive.
“Let us all be responsible and utilize the little resources we have to promote development, we should not vandalize these solar panels,” explained Maunde.
Maunde said the council is committed to improving the infrastructure development under the Road Administration Fund.
“As a council we will make sure that the city has improved infrastructure such as tarmac roads and bridges,” he said.
ZCC is implementing the project under Road Administration Fund.
The project will cover from 3 miles to Chikupila along the Blantyre-Zomba (M3) road.
