The opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has called on government to resolve the prevailing economic challenges the country is going through.
This was said at the party’s campaign rally for the upcoming October 17 by-elections which took place in Lilongwe City South East constituency where it is being represented by Ulemu Msungama.
One of the party’s officials, Muhammad Sidik Mia said Malawians are tired of different economic challenges ranging from power outages to water problems.
“Malawi has seen less development in past years comparing to geographical neighbours who are growing at a faster rate,” Mia explained.
Mia said Malawi needs a leadership which will transform lives of each and every Malawian.
He then encouraged Msungama to be a servant for the people once elected to be a member of parliament for the constituency.
Other nominees for the by-elections are Reuben Ngwenya of Democratic Progressive (DPP), Christopher Manja and Ellen Shaban Kadango who are both running on independent ticket.
