Police in Karonga have said they are working tirelessly to end the circulation of fake two thousand kwacha bank notes in the district.
Karonga Police Station Public Relations Officer (PRO), George Mulewa said this following the arrest of five suspects in connection to the three cases within the period of three months.
Mulewa said: “Karonga is a border district and we believe that the fake currency is coming from the neighboring countries and they are conniving with citizens here.”
“The money has been surrendered to the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) for examination.”
