The National Registration Bureau (NRB) says it is hoping to beat its target of nine million people in the ongoing mass registration process.
The Bureau’s Spokesperson, Norman Fulatira said the process will go on even after the mass registration process.
Fulatira said those who registered and lost their identity card will be required to pay a certain fee to be registered again.
“People who will be registering for the first time will not be required to pay for the identity card after the mass registration,” he said.
Malawi commenced the mass registration exercise on 24th May 2017.
Currently the process is in its fifth phase and over 6 million people have registered so far.
