Health authorities are conducting an oral cholera vaccination campaign in Chikwawa district in order to contain the outbreak.
More than 37 cholera cases have been registered from August this year in the district.
Cholera cases in Chikwawa have affected mainly villages around the Boma with high numbers from Juliyasi and Lingawa areas.
Chikwawa District Health Promotion Officer, Settie Piriminta said the exercise will be conducted in two phases.
“The first round of the exercise started on Monday and will end on 6th October, 2017 and it is going on smoothly,” she added.
Priminta said the second phase will run from 23 October to 27 October, 2017.
