Parenting in Africa Network (PAN) Malawi chapter has called for strong collaboration among the government and stake holders in the country in the fight against online child violence.
Chairperson for the chapter Philip Tegha has made the call during the regional conference of parenting in Africa network in Mangochi district.
Tegha said there is need to create a policy environment that will protect the children several from online exploitation and violence without interfering their learning through Information Communication Technology (ICT).
“We need to create a very conducive and a strict policy environment which will protect our children from several kinds of online abuse, an environment that will not interfere with their learning through ICT,” he explained.
Tegha added; “We can achieve and win this battle only if we engage one another and work in collaboration towards the goal”.
This year’s regional conference was based on the theme protecting children from online violence, and it consisted of delegates from Canada, United Kingdom, Mauritius, Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Malawi.
