The Ministry of Education Science and Technology says it will present a bill which seeks to form the Malawi Qualification Authority.
Minister responsible Bright Msaka said among other things the Authority will be charged with regulating and standardizing all qualifications awarded by both local and international universities and colleges.
“The authority will make sure that it sets rules that if a paper is a diploma it must contain the right subject content including the duration of training,” Msaka told YFM online.
He said in addition if approved in the forthcoming parliamentary meeting, the bill will ensure quality assessment of examination so that certificates offered are of required standards.
Msaka said the Authority will also help to flash out fake certificates.
