Zomba City Council has disclosed plans to procure more Electronic Ticketing Machines in a bid to boost its revenue collection.

Spokesperson for the Council Mercy Chaluma said the system has proved to be more efficient during its pilot phase.

“It was proved that as a council we would really benefit for using the e-ticketing so what is happening now is that in our two markets we are still using the e-ticketing as well as the depot,” she said.

Chaluma said the system will be introduced soon in more markets in the city.

“The full council already agreed that we should migrate from the manual ticketing to e-ticketing and very soon we will roll out in our markets.”
