TNM Super League side Red Lions FC have sacked head coach Mike Kumanga and his assistant Pritchard Mwansa following a string of unconvincing performances.
The team’s General Secretary Major Davie Gondwe said the two have been sent to perform other duties but did not disclose their destination.
He said the two have been replaced by former players, Nelson Chirwa and Yohane Fulaye for the rest of the season.
“We will recruit a new coaching panel for next season,” Major Gondwe told YFM online.
The development comes after Red Lions lost 2-1 to relegation-threatened Blantyre United last Saturday at MDC Stadium in Blantyre.
Red Lions are currently on position 13 with 24 points from 24 games played this far.
They have won 6 games and lost a total number of 12 games, three of which were at their backyard, Balaka Stadium.
The new coaches’ first task will be this coming Saturday in a TNM Super League encounter against Wizards FC at Mulanje Park Stadium.
