The Ministry of Health says it has put up some strategies to prevent the cholera outbreak that has hit some areas in Tanzania from spreading into Malawi.
The spokesperson for the Ministry Joshua Malango said this amid fears that the affected areas are bordering Malawi which has posed a threat to those living in such areas.
In an interview with YFM online, Malango said their ministry has alerted its workers and provided them with the necessary equipment that will help them to deal with the outbreak if it spreads in the country.
“People should be assured that the outbreak will not spread into the country,” he explained.
He further added that “a screening will be conducted on those going out and coming into the country to be double sure that the outbreak does not spread into the country”.
Tanzania was hit by cholera the previous week and so far the epidemic has killed 18.
