Malawi Red Cross Society says it is working together with government to help flood victims in some parts of the country.

Communications Manager for Malawi Red Cross Society, Felix Washon said they have started giving out relief items to the affected families in Lilongwe.

“Red Cross Society was the first organization to help those people who were affected in Lilongwe with relief items like cooking utensils and blankets among others,” he said.

He further said that they are expected to donate 100 more blankets to the affected communities.

Rumphi and Lilongwe are the districts which have been affected by floods with six people so far killed in Lilongwe.
