National Association of Small and Medium Enterprise- NASME says it is expecting enhanced productivity among small businesses in the country following the commissioning of the 36 generators in Blantyre.
The Executive Director for NASME, William Mwale told YFM online that they made more losses in the previous year due to frequent blackouts and multiple load shedding.
Mwale said the coming in of the generators will impact positively as it will improve their operations.
“The previous year was really pathetic, we did not make any profits as expected because of the frequent blackouts and multiple load shedding the country has been experiencing,” he said.
Mwale added: “The new development will enable the business holders to fully honor their taxes and bills which will among other things help boost the country’s economy.”
The 36 generators that have been commissioned will increase national power grid by 55megawatts.
