A 28-year-old driver is in custody at Ntaja Police Station in Machinga for causing death by reckless driving.

Publicist for Machinga Police Davie Sulumba said the accident happened last Sunday where by a Toyota Sienta, registration number ZA 3458 hit a motorcycle killing both a man and a woman who were riding on it.

“The accident happened along the Bakili Muluzi highway towards Nsanama,” Sulumba told YFM online.

The motorcycle was driven by Asibu Kani, 56, of Malunda village, Traditional Authority Chamba in Machinga district.

Sulumba has asked all road users to be more careful when using the roads across the country to avoid such circumstances.
