Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club has donated K500,000 each to Mighty Be Forward Wanderers and Masters Security to boost their preparations for two continental competitions.
Masters are participating in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup while the Nomads are taking part in CAF Champions League.
Speaking after the presenting the donation, Big Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya said the People’s team thought it wise to assist the two teams for their first assignments over the weekend.
“Their participation in the CAF competitions means that they are carrying a Malawian flag hence representing the nation, so we thought it wise to help them financially so that they can make the country proud,” he said.
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butawo, expressed gratitude saying donation had come as a surprise.
“As you recall recently Bullets also honored our request to play with them in a strength testing match and now they have also equipped us financially. Their gesture is more than our expectation,” Butawo said.
On his part Masters Security representative, Mervin M’bweza said their side could not take the assistance for granted as it is a motivation to their camp.
Wanderers are expected to leave for DRC on Thursday ahead of their tie against AS Vita on Sunday while Masters Security travels to Angola on Wednesday to face Atletico Petroleos de Luanda on Saturday.
