A total of 75 households are in need of assistance in Blantyre following stormy rains which destroyed houses and property a week ago.
Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) Spokesperson Chipiliro Khamula said the affected people are from Traditional Authority Kuntaja.
“42 families are from Chigonowaya Village while 33 families are from Kabango Village both in the area of Traditional Authority Kuntaja,” Khamula told YFM online.
Khamula said the affected households are in need of support as the department is yet to provide relief items.
“The families are in need of various items like food, shelter and cooking utensils just to mention a few and the department is about to distribute the relief items soon,” he said.
