A police officer has died while one civilian has suffered injuries in a road  Chintheche in Nkhatabay district.

According to Nkhatabay police spokesperson Cecilia Mfune, the deceased Mark Sulira from Kasitu Police unit in Dwangwa was riding a motor cycle registration N1231 along with a Passenger until the two lost control and hit a stationery vehicle.

Postmortem results have shown that Sulira died due to internal bleeding.

Mark Sulira 39 years old hails from Sekani village Traditional Authority Chikowi in Zomba.
