The Malawi National Netball Team, the Queens, on Thursday, displayed a superb spirit to beat Fiji by 67 baskets to 52 in their second game of the ongoing Four Nations Taini Jamison Trophy which is currently underway in New Zealand.
The queens put behind the frustration they experienced on Wednesday from the hands of the hosts New Zealand who humiliated them by 42 baskets to 75 in the first game.
During the game against Fiji, Queens started the game on a promising note by overcoming their opponent right from the first quarter when it ended 20 to 11 baskets in favor of the Queens.
The Queens also emerged victorious in the second quarter by the same margin.
But things turned around in the third quarter when Fiji came in full force to punish the Queens with 15 baskets to 9 but this did not stop the Queens to emerge victorious at the end of the game.
The Queens caretaker, White Mlilima, started his line up with Mwai Kumwenda, Sindi Simtowe, Bridget Kumwenda, Thandi Galleta, Joana Kachilika, Towera Vinkhumbo and Loreen Ngwira.
After the tournament which will end on March 24, the queens will proceed to the 2018 Gold coast 21st Commonwealth Games in Queensland.
