Zomba District Council has asked stake holders operating in the district to work hand in hand with the council to ensure sustainable development of the district.
The remark was made during the District Development Planning multi- stakeholder’s conference conducted in the district with financial support from Local Government Accountability and Performance Project.
Speaking to YFM at the conference Council Chair for Zomba Chikumbutso Likandawe said that the council will not condone any implementation of development interventions outside the district development plans.
“It is expected that all development stakeholders operating in Zomba district will align their interventions to this DDP implementation of development interventions outside this framework will therefore be highly discouraged,” Likandawe said.
Commenting on the matter, District Commissioner for the Council said the District Development plan will focus on 11 developmental areas that are so crucial in development namely Agriculture and food security, Education, Health, Security and Infrastructure just to mention some
The District Development Plan will be implemented for five years from 2017 to 2022.
