Malawi Congress of Trade Unions (MCTU) has expressed dismay with the increased cases of abuses in work places in the country.
President for the union, Luther Mambala, said: “Among others, the abuses include underpayment of staff in various institutions and companies.”
“Engagement of expatriates has also been singled out as an abuse in working places which reduce chances of people in the country of finding employment and showcasing their talents,” he said.
Mambala said they will soon engage the Ministry of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development to ensure that Malawians are not deprived off employment opportunities across the country.
“We will soon embark on supervision of companies and institutions to scrutinize the abuses and find long lasting solutions,” Mambala said.
