Organisers of the Nyasa Music Awards say they have learnt their lessons from the mistakes made last year, promising a much better edition this year.
The Nyasa Music Awards will be held on May 4, 2018 at COMESA hall in Blantyre.
Lowole Mathambo who is one of the founders of Nyasa Music Awards said: “This year’s Nyasa Music Awards preparations are a continuation from where they stopped last year.
“We have got a surprise which we will announce next week to give people the best event.
“We have improved and every mistake that was conducted last year has been looked into,” Lowole told YFM Online.
He further said people should expect a lot from the event as they have improved and prepared so many surprises that will spice up the event.
“Malawians should expect transparency from this event-results will depend on the votes, no artist will be hand-picked to be the winner.
“Malawians should come and support us as we have improved a lot,” he said.
The Founder also said: “Awards uplift artist to be recognized in other countries because international artists become interested in the number of awards one has.”
On March 22, 2018 organisers for the event released the 2018 nominees which highlight 24 categories including best song of the year and best album of the year.
Saint, Gwamba and Kelvin sings are some of the artists who have been nominated for this year’s Nyasa Music Awards.
