National Youth Network on Climate Change (NYNCC) says youths should take a crucial role to deal with issues related to climate change in the country.
Speaking to YFM online, Project Coordinator for NYNCC, Dominique Nyasulu said this ahead of the first National Youth Conference on Climate Change which will be held from April 16-18, 2018 at Crossroads Hotel in Blantyre.
Nyasulu said the conference will enhance youth’s participation, capacity and coordination on climate change impacts.
“Youth are the ones mostly affected by climate change, so this conference will help them to enhance skills and experience on how they can respond to climate change impacts,” he said.
Nyasulu further said: “The youth are going to be shared various experiences, programs and project that are being implemented in relation to climate change.”
“In responding to the impact of climate change, the youth are going to be shared various projects being implemented at all levels, at the end of the day young people will be aware to initiate local level action.”
National Youth Network on Climate Change has organized the conference in collaboration with government through the Department of Environmental Affairs.
