Nurses have been commended for discharging their duties in a noble manner despite facing numerous problems in hospitals across Malawi.
President of National Organization of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM), Dorothy Ngoma said the problems include low salaries and shortages of nurses and drugs in public hospitals.
Ngoma said the problems are negatively affecting the nurses not to deliver their duties fully.
She was speaking in an interview with YFM as Malawi joins the world in commemorating the nurses week which runs from May 6 to May 12 this year.
Ngoma said the government should invest more in the health sector considering in mind that to be healthy is a human right.
She however congratulated different universities and colleges which are offering courses for the nurses for their good work to the country.
