Police in Kasungu have arrested a 40 year-old woman, a sex worker operating within Kasungu district, for allegedly indulging in sexual activity with a 12 year-old boy.

Speaking to YFM online, the Deputy Police Publicist for Kasungu Harry Namwaza said the suspect, Mercy Kadosa allegedly indulged in sexual activity with the young boy last Wednesday at Thokozani Rest House in the district.”

“The suspect charged the boy K2, 000 but the boy bargained to K1, 000 after which they agreed.”

“The suspect then took the boy to her room but some people who were drinking beer around became suspicious of Kadosa leaving the place with the boy and well-wishers tipped the police considering the tender age of the boy.”

“Upon receiving the information police rushed to the rest house where the incident was taking place. When police arrived at the place they had already fulfilled their arranged sexual activity,” Namwaza added.

Kadosa has been charged with an offence of indulging in sexual activity with a child contrary to section 160B of the Penal Code.

She hails from Kapalamula village in Traditional Authority Kachere in Dedza district.
