Leader of the grouping of the ex- Malawi Young Pioneers Franco Chilemba has expressed satisfaction on how government is currently handling the compensation process.
Chilemba told YFM Online that currently they have three groups assigned to identify the real pioneers in the three regions of the country.
“I am happy to announce that we have now formulated three groups comprising of one policeman, an ACB official, an official from the national audit office, an official from the human resource office and one official from the ministry of finance who are supervising the movement” Chilemba said.
Chilemba further said with the current initiative he believes governments gives them an assurance that the issue will be resolved peacefully.
He has since commended government through the ministry of finance for the initiative.
Over 600 former members of the young pioneers who worked under the regime of the first president of Malawi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda have been seeking compensation following their illegal dismissal from the civil service in 1994.
