Silver Strikers Football Club has climbed to position 2 from 6 on the TNM Super League log table after their 2-1 victory over TN Stars at Silver stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Jack Chiona and Mphatso Filimoni were on target for the Bankers while Stain Davie scored the consolation for the rookies.
The victory has pulled the Bankers up to 13 points and they are now trailing by 4 goals behind the league leaders Nyasa Big Bullets.
On the other hand TN Stars are still stuck on position 12 with 7 points.
TN Star’s task in the week 8 of the league is not yet over as they will go into the field again on Saturday to play Civil Sporting Club at Kasungu stadium.
Silver Strikers have displaced their city arch-rivals, Civil Sporting Club which has now dropped to position 3.
Both the Bankers and Civil Sporting have 13 points but the Bankers have a goal difference advantage.
Super League of Malawi has lined up eight more games to be played on Saturday and Sunday.
