The much-anticipated youth drama series Zathu Pa Wailesi left millions glued to their radio sets to see what Malawi’s most loved drama series had in store as season 3 was first aired on Monday June 4.

According to a press release made available to YFM, the new season has returned DJ Goxy and C-Zee as the co- hosts of the most favourite radio show which in season 3 will focus on empowering young people on decision making, improved gender perception on equality and mixed friendships.

In Season 2 the Zathu drama ended with suspense and emotional turmoil for more than one of the friends. Fans will find out if the 6 young musicians who are facing increasing challenges and personal dilemmas will overcome their struggles together and win the national music competition.

“Apart from new drama, music, Gogo and Timve Kwa Inu segments, the compelling new season will see live recordings across the country, listeners will be surprised with visits in their homes or invited into the studio,”reads the statement.

Season 3 also launches first on-air competition, Mzanga wa Nyatwa where listeners can win exclusive Zathu prizes every week until July, and two lucky winners will have the chance to meet the whole Zathu cast in their community, and hear Zathu Band perform live.

One of the young people in Lilongwe Beatrice Phiri described Zathu Pa Wailesi series as highly entertaining radio show where passion and creativity makes it to be a destination for adolescents.

Zathu is a Girl Effect initiative created in collaboration with the young Malawians that launched in April 2017.
